PARASOL STARS – PC ENGINE – TAITO – VERY GOOD
Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble III is a 1991 single‑screen action platformer from Taito and the direct follow‑up to Rainbow Islands, making it the third main game in the Bubble Bobble series. Originally developed specifically for the PC Engine/TurboGrafx‑16 rather than arcades, it has you clear each stage by whacking enemies with a magical parasol, picking up water and lightning droplets, and turning foes into showers of score‑boosting items.
This PC Engine version is the original home release that later ports and modern reissues are based on, and it’s still praised for its bright visuals, clever level design, and addictive co‑op play. A very good copy like this fits nicely into a PC Engine/TurboGrafx collection focused on Taito platformers and the full Bubble Bobble trilogy on NEC hardware.
